Napoli, known by their fans as Partenopei and Azzurri (The Blues) were founded in 1926. Napoli was founded by an English sailor named William Poths and his associate Hector M. Bayon. The club was originally named Naples Foot-Ball & Cricket Club in 1904 before eventually being named as Associazione Calcio Napoli in 1926.
The original Napoli shirt was sky blue and dark blue stripes before settling on the sky blue as they are now so famous for.
Napoli currently play their home games at the Stadio San Paolo which holds a capacity of 60,240.
Napoli have won many trophies over the years including the Serie A title twice in 1987 and 1990. As well as winning the Coppa Italia 3 times Napoli have also won on the European stage, winning the Uefa Cup in 1989. Napoli though haven’t really won a trophy since the early 1990′s.
