Lille
The Lille football shirt is a popular French club shirt. Lille normally have a red home shirt with a white trim. The club is based in Lille, France.
Lille, known by their fans as Les Dogues (The Mastiffs) and LOSC were founded in 1944. The club was formed out of a merger between two clubs, Olympique Lillois and SC Fives.
The traditional colours of Lille are red and white.
Lille currently play their home games at the Stade Lille-Metropole which holds a cacacity of 17,754. The club originally began playing at the Stade Henri Jooris before moving to the Stade Grimonprez Jooris in 1974. In 2002 the club moved to Stade Lille-Metropole and is now due to move to the Grand Stade Lille-Metropole in 2012.
Lille are the current French Champions winning the Ligue 1 title for the first time since 1954, beating closest challengers Marseille by 8 points. Lille have won the French Championship 3 times now in 1946, 1954 and in 2011. The club have also won the Coupe de France 6 times, last winning it in 2011 thus completing the league and cup double. Manager Rudi Garcia has done a fantastic job but with the loss of striker Gervinho to Arsenal the club might struggle to emulate this success next season.
